I can get the MOE and CTR locally in stock which is why the CTR got specific mention.Daddy Hawkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01386749814126280114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8970071813477046910.post-69620817402356860932012-03-23T14:48:22.047-05:002012-03-23T14:48:22.047-05:00Well, I am a Magpul whore, so that would be my vot...Well, I am a Magpul whore, so that would be my vote. You might want to look at the ACS-style as opposed to the CTR - it's a better cheek weld & helps the balance of the rifle some. Also, I like the Vltor extension tubes...

Always happy to help send your money :DCaptain Tightpantshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13776345884480352979noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8970071813477046910.post-75592526312245543092012-03-23T10:12:12.365-05:002012-03-23T10:12:12.365-05:0045er, I highly recommend it. I messed with it some more Wednesday night. It has ZERO take up, no discernible creep, and barely a hint of grit just before a sharp, crisp break. I think the little bit of grit will smooth out as I work it more. Or it might not. We shall see.Daddy Hawkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01386749814126280114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8970071813477046910.post-28844687316550983232012-03-22T21:50:05.723-05:002012-03-22T21:50:05.723-05:00I'd like to do this at some point. You really have to focus on the trigger when making the shot, but I was able to make head-shots at 100 yards pretty easily. For what you're planning I think you'll be happy.45erhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05397455410329074837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8970071813477046910.post-56765159237146217582012-03-22T21:29:06.167-05:002012-03-22T21:29:06.167-05:00Thanks, that's what I was thinking based on my...Thanks, that's what I was thinking based on my research so far. Now I just have to decide between Magpul's CTR and RRA's CAR Operator stock. The Magpul has a good rep, but the RRA comes with the buffer, tube, castle nut, etc. Decisions, decisions.Daddy Hawkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01386749814126280114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8970071813477046910.post-61677388372312702422012-03-22T15:45:28.745-05:002012-03-22T15:45:28.745-05:00Mil spec, mil spec, mil spec. Any thoughts on mil spec vs. commercial buffer tubes?Daddy Hawkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01386749814126280114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8970071813477046910.post-86756538896989946412012-03-21T13:59:58.498-05:002012-03-21T13:59:58.498-05:00Well done - looks like you hit on most of the comm...Well done - looks like you hit on most of the common stuff.

Watch out when you put on your extension tube, castle nut etc. - many people put it in a bit too far & then realize that the retaining pin isn't working right. Also, staking the castle nut is a good idea.

Finally, expect your trigger pull to have a bit of a different feel when you get it all assembled... you really might want to look into a drop-in replacement, as you'll get frustrated with that gritty stock one! IMHO at least!Captain Tightpantshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13776345884480352979noreply@blogger.com
