I see a lot of videos on social media poking fun at married / serious relationship life where one person says “I’m not hungry” but really means “I’ll be hungry when you fix something I like.” Happened to me last night.
The Queen: “I’m really not hungry.”
Me: Okay. So, I’ll save the chicken stir fry for tomorrow night.
TQ: That sounds good.
Me: Hmmm…I think I’ll make me some nachos.
TQ: That sounds so good. I might have a few.
Me. You just said you weren’t hungry. Are you “not hungry” enough for a small plate or are you “not hungry” enough for half a pan? I need to know how much to make.
TQ: Nachos are just so good.
Me: (proceeding to make a full pan of nachos of which she cleaned half).
That is a female in microcosm. You no doubt have that happen before.
ReplyDeleteMy other favorite from my own wife is similar. We will get something to eat, and she says "Taste this. It is disgusting".
Um, no thanks, I think I will take your word for it, and pass.
But the thing is, we keep on loving them, since our flaws are likely not only more but also worse. God designed the two sexes to fit together perfectly.
Pigpen51, absolutely and, yes, this happens all the time. You should hear us discussing restaurants.
