Anytime Now

Well, dear readers, my anxiety levels have now officially kicked into high gear. I have reached new levels of distraction that I didn't think were possible, and there is no sign of this changing in the near future. Today is officially four weeks since my law school application status was changed to "now undergoing a comprehensive review". A process they say "typically takes 4 to 6 weeks."

Obviously, any hope of an early decision has been mercilessly crushed by the process taking NO LESS than four weeks. I really hope they don't plan on taking the full six weeks or more. I don't know that I can handle another two weeks of uncertainty. I have absolutely nothing with which to compare this experience. I suppose it is analogous to being an expectant parent; but, as The Queen and I are childless, I cannot say that for sure.

Meanwhile, the wait continues....

  2. Keads, breathe??? Don't you mean hyperventilate? I know for a fact that Texas Wesleyan has already had their Spring Break, but I had forgotten about the Easter/Good Friday holiday since my company doesn't give us that day off anymore. That probably means I have to tack another day on to the back end of the six weeks. Argghh!!!

  3. I would go watch a Bill Murray marathon. A Murrathon. Stripes, Ghostbusters, Stripes, Stripes...

  4. North, not a half bad idea. Caddyshack would have to be first on the list though. Unfortunately, I must go play tile setter in the bathroom.

  5. What North said. Go relax. I have worked for the Community College here for 11 years. NOTHING gets done fast there!

    Relax. It will be OK.

Happy Easter. Enjoy it with the Queen!

  6. Keads, easier said than done. I would have thought that a private university would move a little faster than a state school, but apparently not.

  7. Shep: It is like being in a group running from a bear. You only have to be faster than the slowest.

  8. North, the Bible IS somewhat fuzzy on the subject of shooting kneecaps. Every advantage helps.

  9. Maybe "Comprehensive Review" is code for...not automated and therefore an actual human has to lay hands on your application, therefore...hold your horses?? LOL- maybe not but I'm just sayin'.

  10. Mel, I was informed during my campus visit that all applications were reviewed by a real live human(s). I don't know whether to believe that or not, but there you have it.

  11. The human was probably alive at the time that you were told that.

  12. Sorry man. "I feel your pain."

I do wish you the speedy best on this. Actually it wouldn't really count as speedy anymore.

I pray that you get an answer today.

  13. North, thanks. All prayers and well wishes are accepted and appreciated. I'm not holding my breathe for an answer today. I'll give them until Thursday before I start threatening to camp out in their offices.
